Purpose: To evaluate the ability of a mixture of α-TCP and autogenous bone (AB) vs. α-TCP alone and AB alone to promote new bone formation and tissue repair in bone defects.
Methods: Bone defects surgically created in 15 male Wistar rats were divided into four groups: Group I (AB), Group II (α-TCP), Group III (α-TCP+AB assessed by light microscopy), and Group IV (α-TCP+AB assessed by scanning electron microscopy). Bone repair findings were assessed at 30, 60, and 120 days postoperatively.
Results: The histological findings obtained in Groups I (p=0.459), II (p=0.368), and III (p=0.459) and at 30 days (p=0.717), 60 days (p=0.717), and 120 days (p=0.779) did not show statistically significant differences. Scanning electron microscopy revealed direct contact between the α-TCP+AB implant and the bone tissue at 120 days.
Conclusion: The α-TCP implant is effective alternative bone substitutes for the treatment of critical size bone defects.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of implantation of fresh human amniotic membranes (HAM) on bone consolidation during distraction bone lengthening.
Methods: Ten New Zealand white rabbits were used in this study. For each rabbit, we performed a diaphyseal tibial osteotomy after installing a single-plane distraction external fixator.

This study aimed to summarize the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients with bone marrow invasive follicular lymphoma (FL) and discuss the treatment modalities. This study included 183 consecutive patients with FL accompanied by bone marrow invasion and receiving regular treatment at the Hospital of Hematology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, from January 2013 to December 2022. Clinical data were retrospectively collected and analyzed, and single and multifactorial analyses of survival prognosis were conducted with the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression model.

(1) BACKGROUND: Metabolic abnormalities and immune inflammation are key elements within pathogenesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). And in PAH patients, aberrant glutamine metabolism has been observed; however, the function of glutaminase 1 (GLS1) in macrophage is still unknown. So we aims to investigate GLS1's impact upon macrophages in PAH.

Immune-mediated bone regeneration driven by bone biomaterials offers a therapeutic strategy for repairing bone defects. Among 2D nanomaterials, TiCT MXenes have garnered substantial attention for their potential in tissue regeneration. This investigation concentrates on the role of MXene nanocomposites in modulating the immune microenvironment within bone defects to facilitate bone tissue restoration.
