Thioredoxin-interacting protein (Txnip) knockout (TKO) mice exhibit impaired response to fasting. Herein, we showed that activation of adenine monophosphate-activated protein kinase and cellular AMP levels were diminished in the heart and soleus muscle but not in gastrocnemius muscle of fasting TKO mice. Similarly, glycogen content in fasted TKO mice was increased in oxidative muscles but was not different in glycolytic muscles. These data suggest Txnip deficiency has a higher impact on oxidative muscle than glycolytic muscles and provide new insights into the metabolic role of Txnip.
Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) has received considerable attention as a method for allergen immunotherapy (AIT). However, the mechanism of SLIT, especially its timing, has not been thoroughly investigated. We evaluated therapeutic and prophylactic SLIT in an allergic airway inflammation model and evaluated their efficacies.
Background: Ovarian cancer remains a formidable challenge in oncology, necessitating innovative therapeutic approaches. Claudin-6 (CLDN6), a member of the tight junction molecule CLDN family, exhibits negligible expression in healthy tissues but displays aberrant upregulation in various malignancies, including ovarian cancer. Although several therapeutic modalities targeting CLDN6 are currently under investigation, there is still a need for more potent therapeutic options.

Objectives: The purposes of this study were to (i) verify the role of CXCR2 in tacrolimus-induced nephrotoxicity, (ii) explore the specific mechanism of CXCR2-mediated tacrolimus nephrotoxicity, and (iii) target the antagonism of CXCR2 and provide a potential target for the treatment of tacrolimus-induced nephrotoxicity in children.
Methods: CXCR2 knockout (CXCR2-KO) mice were used to evaluate the role of CXCR2 in tacrolimus-induced nephrotoxicity. Wistar rats were used to explore the underlying mechanism.
Introduction: The microglial receptor triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) is a major risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Cell-free DNA (cfDNA), the DNA in the blood circulation, is a useful marker for diagnosing hereditary diseases and tumors. However, the mechanisms underlying the generation of cfDNA are not completely understood. We previously studied DNases [Caspase-activated DNase (CAD), DNase1L3, and DNase I] and reported that in acetaminophen-induced liver necrosis, DNase1L3 was the main endonuclease generating cfDNA, with CAD playing a supporting role.
