Spermatogenesis is one of the most complex processes of cell differentiation and its failure is a major cause of male infertility. Therefore, a proper model that recapitulates spermatogenesis in vitro has been long sought out for basic and clinical research. Testis organ culture using the gas-liquid interphase method has been shown to support spermatogenesis in mice and rats.

Background: Plasma cell myeloma (PCM) is a common adult hematological neoplasm of terminally differentiated B-cells resulting in accumulation of monoclonal plasma cells. PCM is heterogeneous disease with survival time varies from months to years, determined by age, stage, cytogenetics abnormalities, and treatment response. There is conflicting evidence in role of immunophenotype as a prognostic indicator.

Multiple myeloma (MM), a clonal B-cell neoplasia, is an incurable and heterogeneous disease where survival ranges from a few months to more than 10 years. The clinical heterogeneity of MM arises from multiple genomic events that result in tumour development and progression. Recurring genomic abnormalities including cytogenetic abnormalities, gene mutations and abnormal gene expression profiles in myeloma cells have a strong prognostic power.

Centrosome is an evolutionarily conserved organelle that comprises two barrel-shaped centrioles surrounded by pericentriolar material (PCM). It functions as the major microtubule-organizing center (MTOC) to regulate cell polarity, motility, intracellular material transport during interphase, and bipolar spindle assembly during mitosis. Cartwheel assembly is considered the first step in the initiation of procentriole biogenesis at early S phase.
