Introduction: Colorectal non-polypoid lesions (NPLs) are flat, hard-to-detect and mainly right-sided lesions. We aimed to assess the prevalence and endoscopic features of NPLs lesions in a large cohort of screening patients in Northern Italy.

Methods: FIT-positive subjects between 50 and 69 years old who had undergone at least a screening colonoscopy from March 2005 to December 2017 at the Endoscopy Unit of Ferrara were included.

Gastric polyps are not created equal: Know your enemy.

World J Gastroenterol

January 2025

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut 1107 2020, Lebanon.

Gastric polyps are commonly detected during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. They are most often benign and rarely become malignant. Nevertheless, adequate knowledge, diagnostic modalities, and management strategies should be the endoscopist's readily available "weapons" to defeat the potentially malignant "enemies".

Incidental adrenal masses are frequently detected due to the extensive use of cross-sectional imaging, with about 3% to 7% of adults estimated to have them. Paragangliomas and pheochromocytomas (PPGL), rare tumors originating from paraganglia tissues, including the adrenal medulla, continue to be imaging mimics, necessitating a multimodal approach for accurate diagnosis. We report a case of 72-years male presenting with intermittent pain abdomen for the past 1 year.

Endometrial Intraepithelial Neoplasia, Concurrent Endometrial Cancer and Risk for Pelvic Sentinel Node Metastases.

Cancers (Basel)

December 2024

Division of Gynaecologic Oncologic Surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Skåne University Hospital Lund, 22185 Lund, Sweden.

Background/objectives: Given the risk of a progression, or an undiagnosed endometrial cancer (EC), the treatment of choice is hysterectomy in women with endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN). The risk of metastatic disease and whether sentinel node (SLN) biopsy should be performed remains unclear. The primary aim of this prospective study was to determine the overall incidence of concurrent EC and the impact of the diagnostic tool used and the type of endometrial lesion.

Purpose: A projection-resolved optical coherence tomography angiography (PR-OCTA) algorithm with slab-specific strategy was applied in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) to differentiate between polyp and branching vascular network (BVN) and improve polyp detection by en face OCTA.

Methods: Twenty-nine participants diagnosed with PCV by indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and 30 participants diagnosed with typical neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) were enrolled. Polyps were classified into three categories after using the slab-specific PR algorithm.
