We describe recurrent generalized tetanus in a four-year-old unimmunized boy following recurrent suppurative otitis media (SOM) within an 11-month period. There are not many published reports on recurrent tetanus. We highlight the importance of both primary immunizations and the need for active immunization before discharge as the infection does not confer a lifelong immunity. The usefulness of booster doses of tetanus toxoid and missed opportunities for immunization are emphasized.

Background: Major mutations (e.g., KRAS, GNAS, TP53, SMAD4) in pancreatic cyst fluid (PCF) are useful for classifying and risk stratifying certain cyst types, particularly in cases with nondiagnostic cytology.

Background: The treatment of glioblastomas (GBM) with radiation therapy is extremely challenging due to their invasive nature and high recurrence rate within normal brain tissue.
Purpose: In this work, we present a new metric called the tumour spread (TS) map, which utilizes diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to predict the probable direction of tumour cells spread along fiber tracts. We hypothesized that the TS map could serve as a predictive tool for identifying patterns of likely recurrence in patients with GBM and, therefore, be used to modify the delivery of radiation treatment to pre-emptively target regions at high risk of tumour spread.

To explore the safety and clinical efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) located in the isthmus. This prospective study enrolled patients with single isthmus PTMC admitted to General Surgery Department of 983rd Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force of PLA from 2017 to 2022. After ablation, the ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) were performed to follow up the outcomes at 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months.

The presence of a positive deep surgical margin in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) significantly elevates the risk of local recurrence. Therefore, a prompt and precise intraoperative assessment of margin status is imperative to ensure thorough tumor resection. In this study, we integrate Raman imaging technology with an artificial intelligence (AI) generative model, proposing an innovative approach for intraoperative margin status diagnosis.

Introduction: POT1 tumor predisposition (POT1-TPD) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by increased lifetime malignancy risk. Melanoma, angiosarcoma, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia are the most frequently reported malignancies [1]. Protection of telomeres protein 1 (POT1) is part of the shelterin protein complex to maintain/protect telomeres [2].
