Under the direction of intramolecular three-center hydrogen bonding, two cyclotriveratrylene (CTV)-based capsules are assembled quantitatively from C(3)-symmetric CTV precursors by forming three imine bonds from arylamide-derived foldamer segments. (1)H and (13)C NMR and UV/vis experiments reveal that the capsules strongly encapsulate C(60) and C(70) in discrete solvents.

This investigation presents the synthesis of butyl-decorated calix[]phenoxazines of varying sizes by kinetic control and the ring-expansion of calix[3]phenoxazine, which uniquely exhibits distinct binding affinities for fullerenes C and C. Calix[3]phenoxazine demonstrates a higher binding affinity for cationic ammonium, which can be reversibly deprotonated and protonated, enabling the reversible release and reloading of fullerenes. This system holds potential for applications in fullerene extraction and separation.

Reducing the interfacial recombination and improving the charge transfer capability of charge transport layers are effective strategies to enhance the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). This study evaluates, for the first time, the effects of selenophene substitution in the chemical structure of phenyl-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) on the performance and stability of inverted PSCs. Selenophene substitution was compared to thiophene and furan substitutions, and the reference PCBM without chalcogenophene moiety.
