Skeleton has long been recognized as a organ supporting body system and regulating metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. Recent researches found that bone cells, especially osteoblast and osteoclast, synthesize and secrete various bioactive molecules, such as bone morphogenetic proteins, growth factors, adipokines, inflammatory cytokines and cardiovascular bioactive peptides. The active factors produced by bone not only play important roles in the skeleton system per se by paracrine/autocrine pathway but also regulate energy metabolism, inflammatory process, endocrine homeostasis by endocrine pathway.

Purpose: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has been steadily increasing over the years. We aim to predict the occurrence of T2DM using mammography images within 5 years using two different methods and compare their performance.

Approach: We examined 312 samples, including 110 positive cases (developed T2DM after 5 years) and 202 negative cases (did not develop T2DM) using two different methods.

Purpose: The management of hormone receptor-positive (HR +) breast cancer (BC) relies on endocrine therapy (ET), with a primary focus on disrupting estrogen receptor (ER) signaling due to its critical role in BC tumorigenesis and progression. While effective for both early-stage and advanced breast cancers, ET frequently encounters resistance mechanisms, including both ligand-dependent and ligand-independent trajectories, ultimately leading to disease progression.
