We demonstrate that the spin Hall effect in a thin film with strong spin-orbit scattering can excite magnetic precession in an adjacent ferromagnetic film. The flow of alternating current through a Pt/NiFe bilayer generates an oscillating transverse spin current in the Pt, and the resultant transfer of spin angular momentum to the NiFe induces ferromagnetic resonance dynamics. The Oersted field from the current also generates a ferromagnetic resonance signal but with a different symmetry. The ratio of these two signals allows a quantitative determination of the spin current and the spin Hall angle.

Materials with Negative Permittivity or Negative Permeability-Review, Electrodynamic Modelling, and Applications.

A review of natural materials that exhibit negative permittivity or permeability, including gaseous plasma, metals, superconductors, and ferromagnetic materials, is presented. It is shown that samples made of such materials can store large amount of the electric (magnetic) energy and create plasmonic resonators for certain values of permittivity, permeability, and dimensions. The electric and the magnetic plasmon resonances in spherical samples made of such materials are analyzed using rigorous electrodynamic methods, and the results of the analysis are compared to experimental data and to results obtained with other methods.

Abnormal chirality in antiferromagnetic resonance modes of van der Waals 2D magnets.

Two-dimensional van der Waals (2D vdW) materials have attracted widespread research interest due to their unique physical properties and potential application prospects. In this study, an atomistic-level dynamical simulation method is employed to investigate the chirality of antiferromagnetic resonance modes in CrI bilayer. Beyond the typical observations of a linear increase in high-frequency resonance mode and a linear decrease in low-frequency resonance mode, we have identified a distinct magnetization precession chirality in the CrI bilayer at low magnetic fields: Spins in different layers exhibit opposite precession chirality.

The inhomogeneous magnetic stray field of micromagnets has been extensively used to manipulate electron spin qubits. By means of micromagnetic simulations and scanning superconducting quantum interference device microscopy, we show that the polycrystallinity of the magnet and nonuniform magnetization significantly impact the stray field and corresponding qubit properties. The random orientation of the crystal axis in polycrystalline Co magnets alters the qubit frequencies by up to 0.

In ordered magnets, the elementary excitations are spin waves (magnons), which obey Bose-Einstein statistics. Similarly to Cooper pairs in superconductors, magnons can be paired into bound states under attractive interactions. The Zeeman coupling to a magnetic field is able to tune the particle density through a quantum critical point, beyond which a 'hidden order' is predicted to exist.

To analyze the motion laws of a magnetic and elastic coupling system under the influence of various factors, this paper proposes a magnetic coupling pendulum based on spring pieces and magnets-a magnetic-mechanical oscillator. By fixing spring pieces onto two non-magnetic bases and attaching magnets to their upper ends, which repel each other, the potential energy during oscillation is expanded using Fourier series. Subsequently, Lagrange equations are solved to study the effects of the first two terms of potential energy.
