Atherosclerosis, in which chronic inflammation is also effective in it's pathogenesis, is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in psoriasis patients. Early diagnosis and management of atherosclerosis is important. Measurement of carotid intima media thickness is a method used to determine subclinical atherosclerosis.

Herpes zoster Ophthalmicus (HZO) affecting the ophthalmic division (V1) of the trigeminal nerve. HZO may cause extraocular muscle palsies, with the third nerve being the most commonly affected and the fourth nerve the least. The combined involvement of the optic nerve and isolated paralysis of the eye muscle is very rare, with only limited case reports documenting this complication of ocular herpes zoster.

Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) can valorise different organic matter and yield a product of high nutritional value. The lack of knowledge about the microbial safety of BSFL grown on different organic waste streams influences the commercialisation of BSFL as stockfeed ingredient. This study evaluates the microbial safety of BSFL grown on five different commercial food waste streams collected from two commercial production facilities.

Background: Cadmium (Cd), classified as an International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Group 1 human carcinogen, is present in cigarette smoke. Recent studies have illustrated the potential role of genetics in influencing Cd biomarker levels.
Methods: We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of urinary Cd levels in 1977 current smokers from the Multiethnic Cohort Study, comprising participants from five different racial and ethnic groups.

Background: With the population ageing, more victims of community crime are likely to be older adults. The psychological impact of crime on older victims is significant and sustained, but only feasibility trials have been published regarding potential interventions. The integration of public health and care services and cross-agency working is recommended, but there is little information on how this should be undertaken.
