The density functional theory calculations of molecular structure and spectroscopic and electronic properties of charged states in four triazine-heteroaryl star-shaped compounds are presented. The molecules end-capped with different heteroaryl groups, i.e., thiophene (TTT1), furan (TFT2), 3,4-ethylenedioxythienyl (TET3), and thiazole (TSNT4), were studied by electrochemical and in situ ESR/UV-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemical techniques in tetrahydrofuran/(TBA)BF(4). The charged states of monomers were created by cathodic reduction and the stability of generated anion radicals was characterized in detail both experimentally and theoretically. The TET3 molecule resulted in a star-shaped hyperbranched polymer formed anodically which in turn can be reversibly oxidized up to the tetracation. The nature and charge distribution of charge carriers at each redox state in the as-prepared polymer was clarified by calculations for the model (TET3)(3) trimer structure.

Improving catalytic performance by controlling the microstructure of materials has become a hot topic in the field of photocatalysis, such as the surface defect site, multistage layered morphology, and exposed crystal surface. Due to the differences in the metal atomic radius (Mn and Cd) and solubility product constant (MnS and CdS), Mn defect easily occurred in the S/MnCdS (S/0.4MCS) composite.

Metal halide perovskites have shown exceptional potential in converting solar energy to electric power in photovoltaics, yet their application is hampered by limited operational stability. This stimulated the development of hybrid layered (two-dimensional, 2D) halide perovskites based on hydrophobic organic spacers, templating perovskite slabs, as a more stable alternative. However, conventional organic spacer cations are electronically insulating, resulting in charge confinement within the inorganic slabs, thus limiting their functionality.

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder associated with baseline respiratory impairment caused by multiple contributing etiologies. While this may be expected to increase the risk of severe COVID-19 infections in PWS patients, survey studies have suggested paradoxically low disease severity. To better characterize the course of COVID-19 infection in patients with PWS, this study analyses the outcomes of hospitalizations for COVID-19 among patients with and without PWS.

Glutathione serves as a common biomarkers in tumor diagnosis and treatment. The levels of its intracellular concentration permit detailed investigation of the tumor microenvironment. However, low polarization and weak Raman scattering cross-section make direct and indirect Raman detection challenging.

Electrochromic capacitors, which are capable of altering their appearances in line with their charged states, are drawing substantial attention from both academia and industry. Tungsten oxide is usually used as an electrochromic layer material for electrochromic devices, or as an active material for high-performance capacitor electrodes. Despite this, acceptable visual aesthetics in electrochromic capacitors have almost never been achieved using tungsten oxide, because, in its pure form, this compound only displays a onefold color modulation from transparent to blue.
