Sulfur nanoparticles (SNPs) and their composites are promising for heavy metal adsorption, yet current SNPs often lack surface S, leading to low affinity toward heavy metal and ease of aggregation. Here, we report a simple light-driven method for facile prepare SNPs with surfaces enriched with S and in-situ load them onto graphene oxide (GO) to fabricate GO-S composites. Under illumination, the O generated by photosensitizer phloxine B was able to oxidize S into elemental SNPs.

We aimed to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using (cardamom) extracts and assess the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of the cardamom extract, -AgNPs, and the insecticide ATCBRA-commonly used for pest control-on the root system of (broad bean). The chemical composition of the aqueous cardamom extract was identified and quantified using GC-MS, revealing a variety of bioactive compounds also present in cardamom essential oil. These included α-terpinyl acetate (21.

Microgels, combining the properties of hydrogels and microparticles, are emerging as versatile materials for varied applications such as drug delivery and sensing, although the precise control of particle size remains a challenge. Advances in synthetic methodologies have provided new tools for tailoring of properties, however costs and scalability of the processes remains a limitation. We report here the water-based synthesis of a library of -isopropylacrylamide-based microgels covalently crosslinked with varying contents of ,-methylenebisacrylamide.

This study uses a novel method in which extracts from different parts of a single plant are used to synthesize well-defined silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) to address the lack of capping agents in certain plant extracts. We focused on synthesizing AgNPs with enhanced biomedical activity using aqueous leaves and fruit extracts of Exell, a plant native to northern Australia that is known for its high phenolic content and associated health benefits. The impact of using parameters such as the Ag ion-to-extract ratio and pH on AgNP synthesis was examined.
