Unlabelled: This cohort, retrospective study, in the Jávorszky Ödön Hospital, Vác, Hungary, involved 109 patients after total hip replacement.
Methods: The applied questionnaires included the EQ-5D health-related quality of life scores, the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Ostoearthritis Index (WOMAC) scores, the preoperative and the postoperative 5th year health characteristics. The severity of co-morbidities was graded in respect of clinical signs and pharmacological treatment.
Results: The WOMAC values significantly improved in the examination period. However - in spite of the changes in EQ-5D -, it had no influence on adherence of feeling sick after total hip replacement. Among the co-morbidities, the cardiovascular diseases had a distinguished role because their prevalence and deterioration showed a close relationship with the subjective health-feeling of the patients.
Conclusion: According to our study, we have to consider that in case of significant hypertension, ischemic heart diseases or chronic heart failure even the successful surgery will not improve the general sick-feeling of the patients.

Objective: To determine the feasibility, yield, and safety of fluoroscopic-guided aspiration of the acutely dislocated total hip arthroplasty (AD-THA).
Materials And Methods: IRB-approved, retrospective review of fluoroscopic-guided aspirations of AD-THA (January 2005-December 2023) was performed. Data from electronic charts and fluoroscopy images/reports were obtained.

Theoretically, animals with longer hindlimbs are better jumpers, while those with shorter hindlimbs are better maneuverers. Yet experimental evidence of this relationship in mammals is lacking. We compared jump force and maneuverability in a lab population of Mongolian gerbils (Meriones unguiculatus).

Subtrochanteric fractures in older patients are typically due to low-energy falls. The standard of care is intramedullary nailing. The Smith & Nephew Trigen Intertan (Memphis, TN, US) is an intramedullary nail with a novel design that incorporates two integrated compression screws.

Purpose Low-dose total skin electron beam therapy (LD-TSEBT) has recently gained popularity in treating mycosis fungoides (MF) due to its reduced toxicity and favorable response rates. Combining accelerated LD-TSEBT with the modified Stanford technique (mST), a condensed cycling approach, offers a promising and convenient option. However, in vivo dosimetry data confirming the effectiveness of this approach is limited.

Introduction: Hip fractures are common and are a major cause of significant morbidity and mortality in the elderly population, particularly when treatment is delayed. The British Orthopaedic Association's (BOA) guidelines state that surgical treatment should be performed within 36 hours of admission. This study aimed to investigate the effects of delays in surgery on clinical outcomes and to evaluate mortality rates over a three-year follow-up period following proximal femoral fractures.
