Background: Intra ductal papillary mucinous tumors of pancreas are rare and are characterized by a risk of malignant transformation.

Aim: To clarify their clinical presentation and the performance of different imaging examinations to determine their benign or malignant and achieve their staging.

Cases: We report three cases of degenerate intra ductal papillary mucinous tumors of pancreas. The combination of CT, the pancreato- MRI and duodenoscopy has led to the diagnosis in all cases. A pancreaticoduodenectomy were performed in two cases.

Conclusion: The various imaging techniques allow better detection and analysis of the tumor including the evaluation criteria of degeneration. The treatment of these lesions is still surgery.

[Gastroenterology and hepatology : what's new in 2024].

Rev Med Suisse

January 2025

Unité de gastroentérologie, Service de médecine interne, Hôpital Riviera Chablais, 1847 Rennaz.

The year 2024 was rich in developments in the field of hepatology, gastroenterology, and interventional endoscopy. New molecules have been developed for the treatment of metabolic steatohepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Technological progress now makes it possible to perform screening measurements for portal hypertension directly under echo-endoscopic guidance and to extend the use of intraluminal stents to surgically modified anatomies.

Background: Rathke cleft cysts (RCCs) are benign sellar/suprasellar lesions that result from mucin-secreting vestigial remnants within the pars intermedia of the pituitary gland. When symptomatic, they can present with retro-orbital headaches, visual field defects, and/or pituitary dysfunction.

Observations: A 35-year-old female presented with subacute retro-orbital headache, right ptosis, and blurred vision.

Background: Based on the Fukuoka and Kyoto international consensus guidelines, the current clinical management of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) largely depends on imaging features. While these criteria are highly sensitive in detecting high-risk IPMN, they lack specificity, resulting in surgical overtreatment. Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based medical image analysis has the potential to augment the clinical management of IPMNs by improving diagnostic accuracy.

Lung cancer exhibits a diverse array of morphological manifestations and molecular changes, significantly influencing patient diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment strategies. We present the case of a 47-year-old man with a history of smoking, who presented to the emergency room with a 12-month history of haemoptysis. A chest computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a mass in the right upper lobe of the lung and bilateral lung nodules.
