Recent advances in computer science and medical imaging allow the design of new computational models of the patient which are used to assist physicians. These models, whose parameters are optimized to fit in vivo acquired images, from cells to an entire body, are designed to better quantify the observations (computer aided diagnosis), to simulate the evolution of a pathology (computer aided prognosis), to plan and simulate an intervention to optimize its effects (computer aided therapy), therefore addressing some of the major challenges of medicine of 21(st) century.

Despite being a high-resolution separation technique, deterministic lateral displacement (DLD) technology is facing multiple challenges with regard to design, manufacture, and operation of pertinent devices. This work specifically aims at alleviating difficulties associated with design and manufacture of DLD chips. The process of design and production of computer-aided design (CAD) mask layout files that are typically required for computational modeling analysis, optimization, as well as for manufacturing DLD-based micro/nanofluidic chips is complex, time-consuming, and often necessitates a high level of expertise in the field.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effects of taper angle and the number of insertion-removal cycles on the retention force of 4 mol% yttria partially stabilized zirconia (4Y-PSZ) double crowns over time.
Materials And Methods: Primary and secondary crowns were fabricated using 4Y-PSZ with taper angles of 2°, 4°, and 6° (n=15). Retention force during crown removal was measured after applying 50-N and 100-N loads.

Objective: The objective of this research is to enhance pneumonia detection in chest X-rays by leveraging a novel hybrid deep learning model that combines Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with modified Swin Transformer blocks. This study aims to significantly improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce misclassifications, and provide a robust, deployable solution for underdeveloped regions where access to conventional diagnostics and treatment is limited.
Methods: The study developed a hybrid model architecture integrating CNNs with modified Swin Transformer blocks to work seamlessly within the same model.
