The simultaneous detection of multiple analytes through a single fluorescence sensor is highly attractive. In this study, phosphorus-doped graphitic carbon nitride quantum dots (P-CNQDs) were developed, achieving multi-mode sensing through three distinct response mechanisms. The preparation involved using melamine as the carbon and nitrogen source and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate as the phosphorus source.

Metal-Free Carbon Co-Catalysts for Up-Conversion Photo-Induced Catalytic Cancer Therapy.

Adv Mater

Near-infrared (NIR)-responsive metal-free carbon co-catalysts that convert glucose into HO to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) are developed from phosphorus-doped carbon nitride (P-CN) and graphene quantum dots (GQD) composites, for enhanced photocatalytic cancer therapy by light exposure in the targeted tumor microenvironment. Upon irradiation, the NIR light is converted by GQD with up-conversion function into visible light to excite P-CN for photocatalytic conversion of glucose into HO, which subsequently decomposes into ROS. ROS thus generated exhibits an excellent anticancer efficacy for efficient cancer therapy with minimal side effects, as evidenced by both in vitro and in vivo studies.

The utilization of lithium-sulfur battery is hindered by various challenges, including the "shuttle effect", limited sulfur utilization, and the sluggish conversion kinetics of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs). In the present work, a theoretical design for the viability of graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) and phosphorus-doping graphitic carbon nitride substrates (P-g-CN) as promising host materials in a Li-S battery was conducted utilizing first-principles calculations. The PDOS shows that when the P atom is introduced, the 2p of the N atom is affected by the 2p orbital of the P atom, which increases the energy band of phosphorus-doping substrates.

A multifunctional hollow fibre was prepared by the modification of polyethersulfone (PES) with laccase (Lac) and phosphorus-doped graphitic carbon nitride (P-gCN) for the removal of ciprofloxacin and sulfamethoxazole. The properties and structure elucidation of the prepared membranes were evaluated using contact angle analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), correlative light electron microscopy (CLEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), tensile strength, water-intake capacity, and pure water flux. The modified multifunctional hollow fibre membranes showed increased root mean square surface roughness from 50 nm for neat PES to 104 nm, which contributed to the significantly higher water flux of 90 L.

A new sandwich-type electrochemical biosensing platform was developed by gold @polyphthalenediamine nanohybrids (AuNP@PoPD) as the sensing platform and phosphorus doped reduced graphene oxide-hemin-palladium nanoparticles (PrGO-Hemin-PdNP) as the signal amplifier for phosphatidylinositol proteoglycan 3 (GPC3). AuNP@PoPD, co-electrodeposited into the screen printed electrode with high conductivity and stability, is dedicated to assembling the primary GPC3 aptamer (GPC3). The second GPC3 immobilized on the high conductivity and large surface area of PrGO-Hemin-PdNP was utilized as an electrochemical signal reporter by hemin oxidation (PrGO-Hemin-PdNP-GPC3).
