Allergic patients are characterized by complex and patient-specific IgE sensitization profiles to various allergens, which are accompanied by different phenotypes of allergic disease. Molecular allergy (MA) diagnosis establishes the patient's IgE reactivity profile at a molecular allergen level and has moved allergology into the "Precision Medicine" era. Molecular allergology started in the late 1980s with the isolation of the first allergen-encoding DNA sequences.

The European Commission authorized the use of dried yellow mealworm (Tenebrio molitor - TM) as a food ingredient under Regulation EU 2021/882. As TM emerges as an important allergen source, sensitization and allergy to TM in various populations need investigation. The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of sensitization to TM before its introduction as a food ingredient in Poland, as well as checking the occurrence of co-sensitivity to TM and other invertebrate allergenic extracts and molecules.

Background: Component-resolved diagnostics are used to diagnose food allergies. Currently, reports on sensitization profiles using peach-allergen components in a multicenter setting are lacking. In this study, sensitization profiling of peach allergy was performed to evaluate the clinical utility of each component specific-immunoglobulin E antibody (sIgE ab) test.

Cow's milk protein allergy is the most common food allergy in infants and young children, and its prevalence has been increasing in recent years. The use of appropriate diagnostic methods is essential for the management of patients. Oral food challenges are not yet widely used in clinical practice, and new and more effective methods are still being sought, including component resolved diagnosis.

, a prevalent aquatic delicacy, is known to elicit allergic reactions in certain individuals. Nevertheless, the investigation into its allergenic components has remained notably inadequate. In the research, an approximately 35 kDa heat-stable protein of raw/steamed extracts was verified as tropomyosin (TM) by LC-MS/MS.
