To evaluate the effect of phenytoin on burn wounds and to compare the effect of the combination of topical phenytoin preparation in dexamethasone treated burn wounds in rats, partial thickness thermal burn wounds were inflicted upon five groups of six rats each. Group I was assigned as control, Group II received the standard silver sulphadiazine, Group III was given topical phenytoin and Group IV received injection dexamethasone, Group V received the combination of the phenytoin and the dexamethasone. The parameters observed were epithelialization period, percentage of wound contraction and histopathological analysis as indicative of the process of healing. Phenytoin group showed significant improvement in burn wound contraction in comparison to standard silver sulphadiazine group, the combination group of topical phenytoin and dexamethasone also showed significant contraction compared to dexamethasone group. The period of epithelialization also decreased significantly in groups II, III and V. In conclusion, phenytoin promotes burn wound healing as evidenced by decrease in period of epithelialization and faster wound contraction.

Objective: This study aims to observe the outcomes of topical phenytoin treatment in healing neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers with mild infection and compare these outcomes with those obtained from conventional dressing methods.
Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted by reviewing the medical records of patients with neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers treated at a tertiary care center from 2015 to 2020. Two groups were identified: (1) patients treated with topical phenytoin (for ulcers measuring less than 5 cm, a dosage of 100 mg was used; for ulcers measuring between 5 cm and 9 cm, a dosage of 150 mg was used; for ulcers measuring between 10 cm and 15 cm, a dosage of 200 mg was used; and for ulcers measuring greater than 15 cm, a dosage of 300 mg was used.

Introduction: Severe acne breakouts often lead to atrophic acne scars, which affect millions of people worldwide and can significantly affect a person's self-confidence and self-image. Given the difficulty in treating atrophic acne scars, this study aims to investigate the efficacy of topical phenytoin in the treatment of atrophic acne scars.
Method: This split face clinical trial on 25 patients between the ages of 18 and 40 involved the application of microneedling on one side of the face, with three sessions taking place over the course of a month.
Background: Although phenytoin's potential benefits in wound healing, pain relief, and infection control across various wound types have been previously reported, its use in wound care remains limited.
Objective: To conduct a comprehensive review to assess the efficacy of topical phenytoin compared with standard and alternative treatments for different wound types.
Materials And Methods: The authors last searched Cochrane Library, PubMed, PubMed Central, and MEDLINE in June 2023.

Topical PS was applied to evaluate aspects of the wound healing process and growth factors production of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF) as well a necrosis reduction in the skin flap of rat models.
