INTRODUCTIONThis protocol describes the electroporation of DNA constructs to drive in vivo gene expression in neurons during early chick development. Electroporation is a method of physically introducing DNA constructs into cells through the application of an electric field. This simple method is important as it allows the ectopic expression of transgenes with relative ease in most neurons.

In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has emerged as a fundamental component of the standard treatment regimen for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, accurately predicting the treatment effectiveness of ICIs for patients at the same TNM stage remains a challenge. In this study, we first combined multi-omics data (mRNA, lncRNA, miRNA, DNA methylation, and somatic mutations) and 10 clustering algorithms, successfully identifying two distinct cancer subtypes (CSs) (CS1 and CS2).

This study aimed to examine how mesoporous silica nanoparticles-chitosan-folic acid impacted the release of recombinant Azurin within the tumor environment. The goal was to trigger apoptosis and stimulate immune responses against both transformed and normal cells in BALB/c mice. The study found that the use of rAzu-MSNs-CS-FA, a specific formulation containing mesoporous silica nanoparticles-chitosan-folic acid, resulted in pH-responsive behavior and slower release of rAzurin compared to other groups.

Mirror-image nucleosides, as potential antiviral drugs, can inhibit virus DNA polymerase to prevent virus replication. Conversely, they may be inserted into the DNA strands during DNA replication or transcription processes, leading to mutations that affect genome stability. Accumulation of significant mutation damage in cells may result in cell aging, apoptosis, and even uncontrolled cell division.

Ovarian cancer (OvCa) is the most lethal gynaecology malignancies worldwide. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), net-like protein structures produced by activated neutrophils and DNA-histone complexes, have a central role in tumours, though haven't been fully explored in OvCa. We obtained transcriptome data from TCGA-OvCa database (n = 376) as training, ICGC-OvCa database (n = 111) as validation and GTEx database (n = 180) as controls.

Y-chromosome short tandem repeats (Y-STRs) loci have significant research and application value in individual identification, parentage testing, kinship determination and genealogical DNA analysis due to their unique genetic characteristics. Currently, various commercial STR typing kits have used in forensic detection, which greatly promoting the scientific application of STR in criminal investigation and judicial trials. However, due to the complexity and specificity of biological samples, the special STR typing in the sample poses certain difficulties for the construction of DNA databases.
