We report an adult patient who developed a right-sided hydrocoele following a lumboperitoneal shunt. While hydrocoeles have been described as a rare complication following ventriculo- and lumboperitoneal shunts in children, we are unaware of any previously reported cases of hydrocoeles resulting from such shunts in adults.

Introduction: Recent studies by us and others have unveiled a frequent coexistence of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) with neurodegenerative movement disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). This study aims to explore the clinical and radiological characteristics of patients with iNPH who also had comorbid with PSP, referred to as iNPHc + PSP.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with iNPH admitted to our department between 2009 and 2024.

Background: Causes of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea could be divided into primary (spontaneous) and secondary (head trauma and iatrogenic). Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) has emerged as a cause for spontaneous CSF rhinorrhea but is still underestimated, may be overlooked and needs special consideration in management. Background: Rupture of the lumbar catheter in lumboperitoneal (LP) shunts is rare and typically occurs due to long-term mechanical stress. The authors describe an unusual case of early postoperative lumbar catheter severing after a fall on the buttocks.
Observations: A 78-year-old woman underwent LP shunt placement for communicating hydrocephalus after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) usually presents with progressive gait impairment, urinary incontinence, and cognitive deficits. Many studies have shown that NPH can mimic other disorders like Parkinson disease with tremors and rigidity. In this report, we present our experience with three patients who had psychotic behavior and were treated with psychiatric medications but were subsequently investigated and found to have NPH.
