Introduction: Profilin 2 (PFN2) is an actin binding protein highly expressed in the brain that participates in actin dynamics. It has been shown in vitro and in vivo that in neurons it functions both post-synaptically to shape and maintain dendritic arborizations and spine density and plasticity, as well as pre-synaptically to regulate vesicle exocytosis. PFN2 was also found in protein complexes with proteins that have been implicated in or are causative of autism spectrum disorder.

The combination of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and anterolateral ligament (ALL) reconstruction represents a therapeutic modality that exhibits superior clinical efficacy for certain risk groups when compared with isolated ACL reconstruction. This approach is progressively gaining broader applicability owing to its inherent prospective advantages. Despite the absence of a universally acknowledged gold-standard surgical technique, several methods have been delineated for its implementation.

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted healthcare services as individuals avoided medical facilities to reduce the risk of infection. Despite Taiwan's effective public health measures and low SARS-CoV-2 case numbers in 2020, emergency department (ED) utilization patterns still changed, particularly for cases with acute ischemic heart events. This study investigated how the pandemic influenced medical avoidance in such cases and assessed potential collateral damage and adverse outcomes in an ED that managed limited COVID-19 instances during this period.

The cerebral vascular supply has always stirred interest among researchers since ischemic stroke in 30% cases can be managed by early intervention and reperfusion of brain tissue. Variations of collateral arterial circle at the base of brainor Circle of Willis are not uncommon which can be dated back to embryological causes. The aim of the study is to update the variations and to propose a clinically applicable simple classification for completeness of Circle of Willis.

SALMONELLA: as an important food-borne zoonotic pathogen, is found in soil and processing environment by human or animal feces, causing serious public health problems. Quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) disinfectants are widely used in hospitals, livestock farms and food processing sites because of their low toxicity and broad-spectrum disinfection. However, sub-lethal levels of QACs disinfectants can induce bacteria to develop tolerance to disinfectants and cross-resistance to other antimicrobial agents.
