Background: Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy is a well-known and effective treatment for palmar and axillary primary hyperhidrosis (PHH). Its most frequent drawback and the main complaint among patients who underwent surgery is the appearance of compensatory sweating (CS). To date, no long-term studies using internationally standardized tools have assessed the efficacy and impact of this surgery on patients.

Background: Loeys-Dietz syndrome (LDS) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous, autosomal dominant aortic aneurysm syndrome with widespread systemic involvement. We present the case of a 16.5-year-old girl with LDS type 2 (LDS2) caused by a heterozygous pathogenic variant, c.

Background: Lipomas are benign tumors composed of encapsulated adipocytes. Although relatively common, uncertainty remains about the population-level prevalence, the etiology, and the degree of public interest in lipomas and associated removal procedures.
Objective: The spatiotemporal patterns of public interest in lipomas and lipoma removal procedures were characterized.

The photoelectrochemical (PEC) urea oxidation reaction (UOR) presents a promising half-reaction for green hydrogen production, but the stable resonance structure of the urea molecule results in sluggish kinetics for breaking the C-N bond. Herein, we realize the record PEC UOR performance on a NiO-modified n-Si photoanode (NiO@Ni/n-Si) by harnessing the adsorbate-adsorbate interaction. We quantificationally unveil a dependence of the UOR activation barrier on the coverage of photogenerated surface high-valent Ni-oxo species (NiIV=O) by employing operando PEC spectroscopic measurements and theoretical simulations.

Introduction: Epilepsy is a condition associated with stigma and considerable morbidity, placing a significant burden on patients and their families. It is fundamental to be mindful of the fact that a substantial number of patients remain unaware of the effective surgical procedures that have shown great success in many cases, drawing upon the global underutilization of epilepsy surgery (ES). In this study, we explore the knowledge and attitudes of epilepsy patients towards ES at Jordan University Hospital (JUH).
