Ischemic fasciitis is a rare reactive, non-neoplastic proliferation of atypical fibroblasts typically seen in older debilitated patients at pressure points. We describe the case of an 85-year-old female nursing home resident with a past medical history of advanced dementia and immobility who developed an enlarging nodule on the posterior aspect of her right shoulder. A needle biopsy was performed under ultrasound guidance, and the histology was consistent with ischemic fasciitis. Surgical resection of the lesion was performed and anatomical pathology was consistent with ischemic fasciitis. Ischemic fasciitis has been described in association with immobility and debilitation in elderly patients. It is usually located over a bony prominence and should be recognized and differentiated from other skin conditions, such as pressure ulcers or soft tissue sarcoma. It is diagnosed by biopsy and treated by surgical resection. A high degree of clinical suspicion and appropriate management will help to avoid delay in care and medical complications.

Introduction: Increasing age is associated with an increased incidence of necrotising fasciitis. In this study, we aimed to compare the clinical presentation, investigations, microbiology and clinical outcome in elderly (age ≥60 years) and nonelderly (age <60 years) patients with extremity necrotising fasciitis.
Methods: A retrospective review of patients with extremity necrotising fasciitis who were surgically treated between January 2005 and December 2021 was conducted.

Objective: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has emerged as a versatile tool in the management of an array of medical conditions, including tissue ischemia and delayed wound healing. Despite the incorporation of HBOT in other medical fields, HBOT is not routinely utilized in the field of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive periorbital surgery.
Design: Case series.

Ischemic fasciitis (IF) is a rare pseudosarcomatous lesion usually occurring in physically debilitated or immobilized, elderly patients. The current case presents a 76-year-old mobile man with IF on his back. The 33-mm subcutaneous lesion, focally involving the latissimus dorsi muscle, had been slowly increasing in size for 2 months and was clinically suggested to be a soft-tissue sarcoma.

Introduction: McArdle disease, or glycogen storage disease type V (GSD 5), is a rare metabolic myopathy linked to an autosomal recessive myophosphorylase deficiency.
Case Report: We report the case of a 17-year-old male patient who was referred to the emergency department for the management of acute inflammatory low back pain, without traumatic context, associated with an increase of CK at 66,336 UI/L (N<192UI/L) and a CRP at 202mg/L. The immunological assessment was negative and the spinal MRI showed images in favor of necrotizing fasciitis affecting the erector spinae muscles, among others.
