A common argument in favor of using reprogenetic technologies to enhance children goes like this: parents have always aimed at enhancing their children through upbringing and education, so why not use new tools to accomplish the same goal? But reprogenetics differs significantly from good childrearing and education, in its means, if not its ends.

In this paper, I question the argument from human dignity found in the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights (UDHGHR) and in the recent views of the International Bioethics Committee (IBC). I focus on what this argument says about the permissibility of two broad categories of reprogenetic choices that may be available to prospective parents in the genomic era. The argument from human dignity holds that non-medical genetic selection and somatic enhancements ought to be prohibited because they violate the principle of human dignity.

Introduction: Kagami-Ogata syndrome (KOS14) and Temple syndrome (TS14) are two disorders associated with reciprocal alterations within the chr14q32 imprinted domain. Here, we present a work-up strategy for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to avoid the transmission of a causative micro-deletion.
Methods: We analysed DNA from the KOS14 index case and parents using methylation-sensitive ligation-mediated probe amplification and methylation pyrosequencing.
Background: Past studies emphasized the possible cultural influence on attitudes regarding reprogenetics and reproductive risks among medical students who are taken to be "future physicians." These studies were crafted in order to enhance the knowledge and expand the boundaries of cultural competence. Yet such studies were focused on MS from relatively marginalized cultures, namely either from non-Western developing countries or minority groups in developed countries.
