Purpose Of Review: To review the benefits of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and home blood pressure monitoring in children and to discuss implementation of guideline-recommended ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Recent Findings: Compared with office blood pressure, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and home blood pressure monitoring provide superior accuracy, reproducibility, and stronger associations with target organ damage although future work is needed to determine the utility of home blood pressure monitoring to predict hypertension status on ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Due to the benefits of out-of-office blood pressure measurement, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring has been recommended to confirm the diagnosis of hypertension in children and adolescents since publication of the 2017 American Academy of Pediatrics clinical practice guidelines on hypertension.

Purpose Of The Review: Τhe association between nocturnal blood pressure (BP) and alterations in the retinal microvasculature remains understudied, with few available studies to provide conflicting results. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine whether an association exists between retinal microvascular alterations and nocturnal BP patterns, determined by 24h ambulatory BP measurement.
Recent Findings: Our search concluded to 1002 patients (6 studies).

Background: High blood pressure is a prevalent condition in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. Adequate control of high blood pressure is essential to reducing deaths in this group. The present study aimed to observe mortality prospectively in a group of patients in hemodialysis and hemodiafiltration programs in whom the use of antihypertensives was optimized with the point-of-care dry weight (POC-DW) technique.

Trainees frequently present data, including vital signs, laboratory test results, and imaging results, just after the history or presenting illness in a section labeled "ED Course." This practice distracts from the history and physical and decenters the patient as the most valuable source of diagnostic data. Reformatting presentations to appropriately present objective data after the complete history may improve diagnosis and refocuses attention on the patient.

Many theories of time perception propose the existence of an internal pacemaker, and studies across behavioral, physiological, and neuroscience fields have explored this concept. Specifically, Spontaneous Motor Tempo (SMT), the most comfortable and natural tapping tempo for each individual, is thought to reflect this internal pacemaker's tempo. Changes in heart rate are also linked to time estimation, while Individual Alpha Frequency (IAF), the peak in the alpha range (8-13 Hz) observed in EEG, is reported to reflect the brain's temporal processing.
