Purpose: This article describes a method to express implant positions in the dental arch as well as the type and extent of superstructures.
Methods: Basic signs, a 'O' (circle) and a '[symbol: see text]' (dot), which denote an implant and a single standing implant, respectively, are utilized to construct the Panoramic Implant Notation System (PIN System), which allows graphical representation of implants and implant-supported prostheses. The use of the PIN System is described by means of its application to common dental implant situations. While the Universal Numbering System is applied principally, examples of use of FDI Two-Digit Notation and Palmer Notation are also illustrated.
Conclusion: By employing the PIN System, implant positions as well as information pertaining to the type and extent of implant prosthodontics can be easily visualized, and, therefore, practically described, which leads to the avoidance of misunderstanding and ambiguity in communication.

Monitoring dynamic neurochemical signals in the brain of free-moving animals remains great challenging in biocompatibility and direct implantation capability of current electrodes. Here we created a self-supporting polymer-based flexible microelectrode (rGPF) with sufficient bending stiffness for direct brain implantation without extra devices, but demonstrating low Young's modulus with remarkable biocompatibility and minimal position shifts. Meanwhile, screening by density functional theory (DFT) calculation, we designed and synthesized specific ligands targeting Mg2+ and Ca2+, and constructed Mg-E and Ca-E sensors with high selectivity, good reversibility, and fast response time, successfully monitoring Mg2+ and Ca2+ in vivo up to 90 days.

This study aimed to develop a novel reconstruction method for segmental mandibulectomy. In the authors' opinion, reconstruction of the anterior border of the mandibular ramus using a double-arm vascularized fibular flap is important to prevent deformity due to buccal depression and the accumulation of food debris, thereby eliminating masticatory dead space that cannot be filled with prostheses such as implants or dentures. Using conventional reconstruction plates, the reconstructed bone positioned at the anterior border of the mandibular ramus required either fixing with only 1 screw or using 2 plates for stable fixation, making it difficult to position the plates stably.

Importance: Cochlear implants enable improvements in speech perception, but music perception outcomes remain variable. Image-guided cochlear implant programming has emerged as a potential programming strategy for increasing the quality of spectral information delivered through the cochlear implant to improve outcomes.
Objectives: To perform 2 experiments, the first of which modeled the variance in music perception scores as a function of electrode positioning factors, and the second of which evaluated image-guided cochlear implant programming as a strategy to improve music perception with a cochlear implant.
Purpose: To evaluate dynamic changes in ciliary parameters and Implantable Collamer Lens V4C (ICL) (STAAR Surgical) haptic position using mydriatic and miotic agents and their effects on the central and peripheral vault.
Methods: This study involved 80 eyes from 40 consecutive patients (mean age: 28.05 years; range: 19 to 42 years) examined 3 months after ICL implantation.
