The purpose of the present study was to determine after studying 700 panoramic radiographs, the incidence of the various types of the mandibular canal and their relationship to sex. Our results indicate that in descending order of frequency of occurrence type III (the canal is located close to the lower border of the mandible) is the most common, followed by the type II (the canal is noted between the apices of the first and second molars and the lower border of the mandible) and the type I (the canal is in close contact with the apices of the first and the second molars). Only three cases showed bifid mandibular canal. There was no statistical significance between sex and types of the mandibular canal. There was topographical difference between the left and the right side in 19.86% of the cases.

Although the deep circumflex iliac artery (DCIA) flap is a mainstay in mandibular reconstruction, its multi-segmental utilization is infrequently reported, primarily due to concerns regarding the variable cutaneous component and potentially inadequate vascular supply to multi-block segments. This retrospective study analyzed the outcomes of 86 patients undergoing mandibular reconstruction with multi-segmental DCIA flaps, compared to 167 patients who received conventional single-segmental flaps. The survival rate for multi-segmental flaps was comparable to that of single-segmental flaps (100% vs.

Background/purpose: The use of finite element (FE) analysis in implant biomechanics offers many advantages over other approaches in simulating the complexity of clinical situations. The aim of this study was to perform an optimization analysis of dental implants with different thread designs in three types of bone quality.
Materials And Methods: The three-dimensional FE model of a mandibular bone block with a screw-shaped dental implant and superstructure was simulated.

Background/purpose: The functional and aesthetic reconstruction of the mandible can be achieved by using the double-barrel vascularized free fibula flap. The purpose of this study was to use multiple integrated techniques to more effectively reconstruct the mandible, some contains of our unique ideas.
Materials And Methods: 21 patients were included in this study.

Aims And Background: The study of the morphology of soft tissues as well as hard tissues of the orofacial region holds prime importance. A very less information is known about the lips (soft tissues) and maxillo-mandibular arches (hard tissue structures) in primary dentition. Henceforth, there is a need to classify, find the prevalence and correlation of various lip shapes, and arch forms in primary dentition.

Digital workflows have revolutionized dentistry, especially when it comes to fabrication of complete dentures through Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD-CAM) procedures. Digital articulators manage to simulate mandibular movements and are emerging as alternatives to mechanical articulators like the Gerber semi-adjustable model. Despite being a promising tool, digital articulators require refinement in order to grant consistent functionality and effective occlusal balance.
