Purpose: To present the different findings of Chlamydia psittaci (C. psittaci) pneumonia on computed tomography (CT) according to the progression of the disease, to improve diagnostic accuracy, guide early clinical diagnosis, evaluate treatment efficacy, and reduce the mortality associated with the disease.

Methods: In total, 80 cases of C.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore lung structure differences in small airway dysfunction (SAD) using both spirometry and parametric response mapping (PRM) evaluated through high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT).
  • It involved 388 participants who underwent pulmonary function tests and chest CT scans, leading to the identification of predictive factors for SAD based on clinical and imaging data.
  • Results indicated that spirometry-defined SAD was more related to airway morphology, while PRM was more sensitive to early dysfunction, and predictive models combining clinical data and HRCT assessments showed high accuracy.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on differentiating non-tuberculous mycobacteria pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) from pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) in patients with positive sputum smear results, identifying clinical characteristics of both diseases over a span of four years in China.
  • A total of 76 NTM-PD and 92 PTB cases were analyzed; findings revealed that NTM-PD patients were generally older, exhibited more symptoms like hemoptysis and dyspnea, and showed differing radiological features compared to PTB patients.
  • Advanced age, hemoptysis, and dyspnea emerged as key independent predictors for NTM-PD, emphasizing the need for careful

Bronchiolitis refers to a small airways disease and may be classified by etiology and histologic features. In cellular bronchiolitis inflammatory cells involve the small airway wall and peribronchiolar alveoli and manifest on CT as centrilobular nodules of solid or ground glass attenuation. Constrictive bronchiolitis refers to luminal narrowing by concentric fibrosis.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) often overlaps with the clinical manifestations and chest imaging manifestations of other types of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and imaging data of a group of patients with CAP, summarized their clinical and imaging characteristics, and discussed the diagnostic significance of their certain HRCT findings. The HRCT findings of CAP researched in our study included tree-in-bud sign (TIB), ground-glass opacity (GGO), tree fog sign (TIB + GGO), bronchial wall thickening, air-bronchogram, pleural effusion and cavity.
