Background: General anesthesia (GA) combined with regional anesthesia (RA) is commonly used to enhance perioperative analgesia and hemodynamic stability. This study aimed to compare the hemodynamic effects and postoperative cognitive function between remimazolam tosylate and propofol in patients undergoing GA combined with RA.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 4408 patients who underwent elective upper or lower limb surgeries at our institution from January 2020 to June 2024.

Background: Postoperative patients constitute majority of critically ill patients, although factors predicting extubation failure in this group of patients remain unidentified. Aiming to propose clinical predictors of reintubation in postoperative patients, we conducted a post-hoc analysis of a multicenter prospective observational study.
Methods: This study included postoperative critically ill patients who underwent mechanical ventilation for > 24 h and were extubated after a successful 30-min spontaneous breathing trial.

Background: Many diagnostic and interventional procedures are performed in bronchoscopy suites in high-risk patients. Minor impairment in respiratory muscle function caused by incomplete reversal of neuromuscular block can contribute to postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs). We assessed whether there are fewer serious PPCs after diagnostic or therapeutic bronchoscopy when neuromuscular block is reversed with sugammadex rather than neostigmine.

Introduction: Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain comprises up to 30% of cases of mechanical low back pain (LBP), the leading cause of disability worldwide. Despite sacral lateral branch cooled radiofrequency ablation (CRFA) showing efficacy in clinical trials, there is a lack of comparative-effectiveness long-term follow-up.
Methods: In this randomized, multicenter, comparative-effectiveness study, 210 patients with injection-confirmed SIJ pain who responded to prognostic lateral branch blocks were randomly assigned to receive CRFA of the L5 dorsal ramus and S1-S3/4 lateral branches or standard medical management (SMM) consisting of pharmacotherapy, physical therapy, injections, and integrative therapies.
