  • - Two types of bionanovesicles were created from cholangiocarcinoma cells, characterized for size, stability, and efficiency, and shown to effectively deliver the photosensitizer with no toxicity associated with dark conditions.
  • - The results indicated that these vesicles could successfully disperse the photosensitizer inside tumor cells and achieved higher PDT efficiency compared to traditional methods using liposomal forms.

An iridium-conjoined long and narrow metallorectangle was obtained by combining a quinoxalinophenanthrophenazine-connected Janus-di-imidazolylidene ligand and pyrazine. The size and shape of this assembly together with the fused polyaromatic nature of its panels provides it with properties that are uncommon for other metallosupramolecular assemblies. For example, this nanosized 'slit-like' metallobox is able show very large binding affinities with planar organic molecules in such a way, that the cavity is asymmetrically occupied by the guest molecule.

Binuclear Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes [Ru(NN)(BIPMB)] (1-4), where N-N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), dipyrido [3,2-d:2',3'-f] quinoxaline (dpq), and dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz), have been synthesized using suitable precursors and bridging ligand (BIPMB), where BIPMB = 3,3'-bis-{(imidazol-1-yl)-[4,5-f]-1,10-phenanthroline) methyl}-1,1'-biphenyl. The binding mode and affinity of complexes 1-4 with Calf Thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were determined by absorption and steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy. The decrease in viscosity of CT-DNA on sequential addition of these complexes indicated DNA condensation and the result was corroborated by circular dichroism (CD).

The newly synthesized organometallic acetyl ferrocene imine ligand (HL) was obtained by the direct combination of 2-acetyl ferrocene with 2-aminothiophenol. The electronic and molecular structure of acetyl ferrocene imine ligand (HL) was refined theoretically and the chemical quantum factors were computed. Complexes of the acetyl ferrocene imine ligand with metal(II)/(III) ions (Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II)) were fabricated.
