Biomimetic calcification is a micro-crystallization process that mimics the natural biomineralization process, where biomacromolecules regulate the formation of inorganic minerals. In this study, it is presented that a protein-assisted biomimetic calcification method for the in situ synthesis of nitrogen-doped metal-organic framework (MOF) materials. A series of unique core-shell structures are created by utilizing proteins as templates and guiding agents in the nucleation step, creating ideal conditions for shell growth.

As an emerging two-dimensional (2D) Group-VA material, bismuth selenide (BiSe) exhibits favorable electrical and optical properties. Here, three distinct morphologies of BiSe were obtained from bulk BiSe through electrochemical intercalation exfoliation. And the morphologies of these nanostructures can be tuned by adjusting solvent polarity during exfoliation.

The increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO) emissions due to the combustion of fossil fuels and the consequential impact on global climate change have made CO capture, storage, and utilization a significant area of focus for current research. In most electrochemical CO applications, water is used as a proton donor due to its high availability and mobility and use as a polar solvent. Additionally, supercritical CO is a promising avenue for electrochemical applications due to its unique chemical and physical properties.

Although Silicon monoxide (SiO) is regarded as the most promising next-generation anode material, the large volume expansion, poor conductivity, and low initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) severely hamper its commercialization application. Designing a multilayer conductive skeleton combined with advanced prelithiation technology is considered an effective approach to address these problems. Herein, a reliable strategy is proposed that utilizes MXene and carbon nanotube (CNT) as dual-conductive skeletons to encapsulate SiO through simple electrostatic interaction for high-performance anodes in LIBs, while also performing chemical prelithiation.
