Hypomagnesemia is defined as serum magnesium levels less than 0.7mmol/L and can result in a plethora of symptoms ranging from mild gastrointestinal symptoms to serious conditions such as cardiac arrhythmias and neurological complications. When considering the etiological factors, drug-induced hypomagnesemia is highlighted because commonly used medications such as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), aminoglycoside antibiotics, and loop and thiazide diuretics can cause low magnesium levels.

A 49-year-old man who was a current smoker with a history of hypertension, dyslipidemia, and coronary artery disease after coronary stent placement presented because of abdominal and back pain. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed a 30-mm, large hepatic artery aneurysm. Resection of the aneurysm and autogenous vein bypass grafting was performed, which resulted in a successful outcome without any complications.

Objective: To assess the associations of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids consumption, and the ratio between the two, with self-reported doctor told Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) diagnosis. Further, to assess whether initiation of omega-3 supplements intake was related to time/year of SLE diagnosis.
Methods: Data from 42,398 women in the Adventist Health Study-2 cohort were used for this cross-sectional study.

Median sternotomy is the Gold Standard access for surgical revascularization of the myocardium, but it is not free of complications, especially in patients with multiple comorbidities. Minimally invasive access offers the advantage of avoiding sternotomy, achieving a more accelerated postoperative recovery, with less hospital stay time and a higher level of satisfaction with quality of life. We present the case of a 49-year-old male patient, diabetic, hypertensive, smoker, with multiarterial coronary artery disease, very symptomatic, who underwent surgical revascularization by left mini-thoracotomy.
