Published: February 2011

A new dammarane-type triterpenoid saponin, (20R)-ginsenoside ST(2) (1), along with five known saponins was isolated from the hongshen extract of Shenmai injection. The structure of 1 was elucidated to be (20R)-dammar-23(E)-ene-3β,6α,12β,20,25-pentol 6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside by means of spectroscopic methods.

In order to support the emissions reduction options in manufacturing industry effectively, it is necessary to quantify the final demand embedded manufacturing consumption (DEMC) emissions which can be estimated by converting intermediate manufacturing consumption into all final demand categories. Here, we quantify the DEMC emissions in China's 30 provinces during 2007-2017 using a multi-regional input-output (MRIO) model and the modified hypothetical extraction method (HEM). Then, we analyze impacts of four factors (including emissions multipliers, consumption structure, investment efficiency, and investment scale) on the DEMC emissions.

Effects of Shenfu injection and its main components on the contraction of isolated rat thoracic aortic rings.

Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Chinese Medical Pharmacology, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin, People's Republic of China.

Background And Purpose: Shenfu injection (SFI), derived from the ancient traditional Chinese medicine (Red Radix Ginseng and Radix Aconitum Carmichaeli), has been widely used in the clinical for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases for more than 20 years. The present study aims to investigate the effects of SFI and its main components on the contraction of isolated rat thoracic aorta rings and the potential mechanisms of this action.

Methodology/principal Findings: The isolated rat thoracic aorta rings were initially treated with different concentrations of SFI, Hongshen injection (HSI, mainly containing ginsenoside) or Fupian injection (FPI, mainly containing aconite total alkaloids) separately.
