Purpose: To determine the patient demographics and incidence of hip arthroscopy after total hip arthroplasty using the PearlDiver database.
Methods: This is a retrospective study of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty and arthroscopic hip surgery. The PearlDiver Claims Database was queried using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for records from 2010 to 2021.
Robotic-assistance is associated with better joint outcomes compared to conventional techniques in surgically routine total hip arthroplasty: a propensity-matched large database study of 3948 patients.

Patient is a 64-year-old female with a history of right total hip arthroplasty (THA) who presented with progressive painful right lower extremity edema and chronic groin pain for 2 years. A CT scan from October 2021 revealed an expanding, large iliopsoas bursal fluid collection that caused compression of the right common femoral artery and vein in June 2023. Further workup excluded deep venous thrombosis or infectious causes.

: Vancomycin is commonly used in the treatment of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), and trough concentrations are measured to ascertain that they are within the therapeutic range. It has not been investigated what proportion of vancomycin concentrations during treatment of PJI patients is accurately within this range, how many dose adjustments are commonly needed, and which patient factors predispose towards aberrations from the desired range. : In this single-center cohort study, we investigated vancomycin trough concentrations in 108 patients with surgically treated PJI who received IV administered vancomycin treatment post-operatively.
