The colony hybridization and tetracycline accumulation techniques made possible to demonstrate the majority of the 29 bacteria of Pseudomonas genera to harbour the plasmids carrying tet determinants belonging to classes A-C, while one strain contained a plasmid carrying tet determinant of class B. For the first time the determinants of classes D and E were found on R plasmids in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The determinant of G class was identified on two plasmids identical to pBS221 plasmid described previously.

Introduction: Hypervirulent carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (hv-CRKP) poses an increasing public health risk due to its high treatment difficulty and associated mortality, especially in bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients. The emergence of strains with multiple resistance mechanisms further complicates the management of these infections.
Methods: We isolated and characterized a novel ST11-KL64 hv-CRKP strain from a pediatric bone marrow transplantation patient.

Unlabelled: The study investigated the resistome, virulome and mobilome of multidrug resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae and Klebsiella oxytoca clinical isolates.
Methods: A total of 46 suspected Klebsiella species (spp.) were collected from blood cultures within the uMgungundlovu District in the KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Tigecycline is a last-resort antibiotic to treat complicated infections caused by multidrug-resistant pathogens, while the emergence of plasmid-mediated tet(X) family severely compromises its clinical efficacy. Novel antimicrobial strategies not limited to new antibiotics in pharmaceutical pipeline are urgently needed. Herein, we reveal the metabolic disparities between tet(X)-negative and -positive E.

Background: The emergence of , which can confer resistance to phenicols and oxazolidinones in spp., poses a growing public health threat.
Methods: 102 -positive enterococci (OPEs) including various species were isolated from feces of 719 healthy volunteers in a Shenzhen community, China.
