We retrospectively studied the clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment, and therapeutic effect in 25 cases of incisional parapubic hernia. We believe that it is necessary for patients with recurrent hernia to undergo CT detection; the mesh patch should be adequately large, and must be doubly fixed before and after the pubic bone. Sublay and intraperitoneal onlay mesh technique both can obtain good therapeutic effects for incisional parapubic hernia.

According to the current literature parapubic hernia is regarded as a relatively rare pathology. The causative defect is usually related to pelvic surgery, traumatism, or bone malformation. Surgical treatment is difficult, because aponeurotic tissue on which to anchor a mesh on the caudal aspect of the defect is missing.

Introduction: Repair of complex abdominal wall defects remains a challenge for the general surgeon. The aim of the present study was to validate the double mesh repair technique in complex hernias.
Material And Method: We performed a prospective study of 15 patients with complex abdominal wall defects who underwent surgery in a university hospital.

Parapubic hernia is a rare entity, the aetiology of which is usually associated with pelvic surgery, traumatisms and bone malformations. Treatment is difficult because the defect is usually limited by altered fibrotic anatomical planes. We present a case of incisional pubic hernia in a patient with congenital bladder exstrophy and multiple surgeries for pelvic reconstruction, who was treated using a plasty combined with a double intra-abdominal/supra-aponeurotic mesh.

Since the introduction of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the late 1980s, video technology has continued to find new applications in the field of general surgery. Laparoscopic inguinal herniorrhaphy is touted by many to provide a minimally invasive approach to the most commonly performed general surgical procedure, possibly with a lower incidence of recurrence. Additionally, laparoscopic repair of an incisional hernia with synthetic mesh allows a tension-free procedure while potentially reducing the risk of complications such as wound and mesh infections by avoiding the use of large abdominal wall incisions through old surgical scars.
