Objective: To investigate the clinical, pathological and imaging characteristics, misdiagnosis and treatment of pulmonary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with diffuse ground-glass opacities (GGO).

Methods: Six cases of pulmonary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with diffuse GGO on chest CT diagnosed from January 2008 to March 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.

Results: There were 5 males and 1 female with average age of 52 years old (range: 30-59). The course had a range of 2-36 months. Most patients presented with dyspnea (n=5) and loss of weight (n=5). Enlargement of superficial lymph nodes (n=2) and hepatosplenomegaly (n=2) were also found. Laboratory tests showed that average hemoglobin decreased to 25 g/L and average serum LDH was 755 U/L. Chest CT showed diffuse GGO (n=2), diffuse GGO with consolidations (n=3), with wide lung septum (n=3), with multiple nodules (n=2), with enlargement of mediastinal lymph nodes (n=2). Diagnosis of the 6 cases were made by lung biopsy. Histological findings including intravascular lymphoma (n=2), diffuse large B cell lymphoma (n=2) and T cell lymphoma (n=2). The average follow-up period was 4 months (range: 2-6). Chemotherapy was administered in 4 patients with B cell lymphoma and all of them improved or remained stable. One patient with T cells lymphoma was lost to follow-up and another patient with T cell lymphoma died due to lung infection.

Conclusions: Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with diffuse GGO on chest CT scan is rare. And its misdiagnosis is common due to a lack of specific clinical manifestations. And lung biopsy is necessary for an early diagnosis.

Prizloncabtagene autoleucel (prizlon-cel), a novel bispecific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell, targets and eliminates CD19/CD20 positive tumor cells. This phase 1, open-label study investigated the safety and efficacy of prizlon-cel in patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (r/r B-NHL). Patients with CD19 and/or CD20-positive r/r B-NHL received a 3-day lymphodepletion (cyclophosphamide: 300 mg/m2/d; fludarabine: 30 mg/m2/d) followed by an intravenous dose of prizlon-cel.

Primary Effusion Lymphoma Prognostic Score (PEL-PS): A Validated International Prognostic Score in HIV-Associated Primary Effusion Lymphoma.

Biostatistics and Data Management Section, Office of the Clinical Director, Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA.

Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is an HIV-associated B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) caused by Kaposi sarcoma herpesvirus (KSHV). There is no validated prognostic model in PEL, and prognosis is thought to be poor compared to other HIV-associated NHL. We derived the PEL-Prognostic score (PEL-PS) from an international real-world training set of 59 patients with HIV-associated PEL who received first-line anthracycline-containing chemotherapy from the HIV and AIDS Malignancy Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in the United States and the National Center for HIV Malignancy at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (CWH) in England from 2000 to 2022.

Advances in the Classification of Aggressive B-cell Lymphomas.

Adv Anat Pathol

January 2025

Institut d'Investigacions Biomediques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS).

Aggressive B-cell lymphomas are a biologically and clinically very heterogeneous group of tumors that may be related to different stages of B-cell differentiation development. This review aims to summarize recent advances in the understanding of these tumors with a focus on the practical approach to the diagnosis of these entities. We analyze the defining characteristics of the different subtypes of aggressive B-cell lymphomas, including nodal and extranodal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, virus-associated lymphomas, terminally differentiated B-cell lymphomas, high-grade B-cell lymphomas, and Burkitt lymphoma.

Background: Distinctive heterogeneity characterizes diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), one of the most frequent types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Mitochondria have been demonstrated to be closely involved in tumorigenesis and progression, particularly in DLBCL.

Objective: The purposes of this study were to identify the prognostic mitochondria-related genes (MRGs) in DLBCL, and to develop a risk model based on MRGs and machine learning algorithms.

Purpose: To highlight a case report of high-grade primary lacrimal sac Burkitt lymphoma in a young adult.

Observation: A 25-year-old gentleman was referred to the oculoplastic center for left eye medial canthal progressive swelling at the level below the medial canthal tendon for two months associated with tearing. He was initially treated for preseptal cellulitis but failed to respond to antibiotics.
