Wolcott-Rallison Syndrome is an extremely rare syndrome characterized by infantile non-autoimmune diabetes, extensive skeletal dysplasia, and multi-organ failure requiring transplant. Prognosis is very poor, and as such, surgical intervention for symptomatic cervical spine compromise in pediatric patients has not been widely reported in part due to their high fragility. We report a complex case of Wolcott-Rallison Syndrome that presented with cervical myelopathy due to cervicomedullary compression and the exceptional surgical considerations required for successful intervention.

Adaptive radiations are characterized by an increase in species and/or phenotypic diversity as organisms fill open ecological niches. Often, the putative adaptive radiation has been studied without explicit comparison to the patterns and rates of evolution of closely related clades, leaving open the question whether notable changes in evolutionary process indeed occurred at the origin of the group. Anolis lizards are an oft-used model for investigating the tempo and mode of adaptive radiations.

The growing annual demand for bone grafts and artificial implants emphasizes the need for effective solutions to repair or replace injured bones. Additive manufacturing technology offers unique merits for advancing bone tissue engineering (BTE), enabling the creation of scaffolds and implants with customized shapes and designs, interconnected architecture, controlled mechanical properties and compositions, and broadening its range of applications. It overcomes the limitations of traditional manufacturing methods such as electrospinning, salt leaching, freeze drying, solvent casting etc.

Artificial skull deformations were performed in all cultures since Prehistoric times using external devices, to permanently modify the shape of the head of newborns. Two types of deformations are reported: (1) antero-posterior deformations ("flat heads") and (2) circumferential deformations ("long heads"). Deformation devices exert mechanical forces on the forehead and the occiput: forehead shape is thus a major source of information for diagnosis, classification and on the culture significance of artificial skull deformations.

Background: The process of bone healing is complex and involves the participation of osteogenic stem cells, extracellular matrix, and angiogenesis. The advancement of bone regeneration materials provides a promising opportunity to tackle bone defects. This study introduces a composite hydrogel that can be injected and cured using UV light.
