In the title compound, [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](C((C(13) )H(10)NO(4)S)(2), the nickel(II) atom, lying on a center of symmetry, is six-coordinated by six aqua O-atom donors. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 33.1 (3)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by aqua-anion O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur in the anion.

Selectfluor, [1-chloromethyl-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate)], is a highly valuable reagent in contemporary chemistry, serving not only as an electrophilic fluorinating agent but also as an effective catalyst in the synthesis of various pharmaceutically relevant heterocycles.

Globin X is a newly discovered member of the globin family, while its structure and function are not fully understood. In this study, we performed protein modelling studies using Alphafold3 and molecular dynamics simulations, which suggested that the protein adopts a typical globin fold, with the formation of a potential disulfide bond of Cys65 and Cys141. To elucidate the role of this unique disulfide in protein structure and stability, we constructed a double mutant of C65S/C141S by mutating the two cysteine residues to serine.

Redox-active ligands provide alternative reaction pathways by facilitating redox events. Among these, tridentate bis(piridylimino)isoindole (BPI) fragments offer great potential, though their redox-active behaviour remains largely underdeveloped. We describe herein a family of BPI germanium(II) complexes and the study of their redox properties.

The photopolymerization-induced microphase separation (photo-PIMS) process involving a reactive polymer block was implemented to fabricate nanostructured quasi-solid polymer electrolytes (QSPEs) for use in lithium metal batteries (LMBs). This innovative one-pot fabrication enhances interfacial properties in LMBs by enabling nanostructuring of QSPE directly onto the electrodes. This process also allows for customization of QSPE structural dimensions by tweaking the architecture and molar mass of poly[(oligo ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate--styrene] (P(OEGMA--S)) macromolecular chain transfer agent.
