AI Article Synopsis

  • The compound has a molecular formula of C(28)H(21)Cl and features a dihedral angle of 71.97° between its two fluorene ring systems.
  • There is a hydrogen bond formed between a carbon and the chlorine atom within the molecule.
  • In the crystal structure, the distance between the centers of the stacked fluorene rings is about 4.22 Å, suggesting that there is no significant π-π stacking interaction between them.

Article Abstract

In the title compound, C(28)H(21)Cl, the dihedral angle between the two fluorene ring systems is 71.97 (4)°. There is an intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, the centroid-to-centroid distance between stacked fluorene ring systems is ca 4.22 Å, which indicates that there are no π-π stacking inter-actions between them.

Present study aimed at a single component cyclization of 2-benzylidene-1-tetralones for the preparation of 5H-benzo[c]fluorenes and their antiproliferative activity. This ring closure reaction underwent via reductive cyclization in the presence of a sodium borohydride-aluminium chloride system. Ten diverse 5H-benzo[c]fluorene derivatives were prepared and evaluated for antiproliferative activity against three human cancer cell lines by SRB assay.

Electronic address:

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in semi-enclosed gulfs are influenced by physical and biochemical processes, which haven't been well understood. This study aims to investigate the spatial distribution and vertical profiles of dissolved PAHs in the Beibu Gulf (BG) and adjacent waters of the South China Sea, along with hydrological, meteorological, and biochemical variables. Particularly relevant are the effects of atmospheric pressure, salinity, ammonium, chlorophyll-a, as well as riverine inputs (RI), sea currents, and upwelling.

In this work, we designed two nitrogen-bridged fluorene-based heptacyclic FNT and nonacyclic FNTT ladder-type structures, which were constructed by one-pot palladium-catalyzed Buchwald-Hartwig amination. FNT and FNTT were further end-capped by FIC acceptors to form two FNT-FIC and FNTT-FIC non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs), respectively. The two NFAs exhibit more red-shifted absorption and higher crystallinity compared to those of the corresponding carbon-bridged FCT-FIC and FCTT-FIC counterparts.

The exploration of sediment pollution caused by PAHs and its impact on microbial communities can provide valuable insights for the remediation of sediments. The spatial distribution of PAHs and their impact on the microbial community within the Pearl River Estuary were investigated in this study. The findings revealed that the total concentration ranges of 16 PAHs were between 24.
