In the title complex, [CuEu(C(19)H(20)N(2)O(4))(NO(3))(3)], the Cu(II) ion is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry by two O atoms and two N atoms of the deprotonated Schiff base. The Eu(III) atom is ten-coordinate, chelated by three nitrate groups and linked to the four O atoms of the deprotonated Schiff base.

Two new zinc(II) complexes, tri-ethyl-ammonium di-chlorido-[2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)-4-phenyl-quinolin-8-olato]zinc(II), (CHN){Zn(CHNO)Cl] (), and bis-(tri-ethyl-ammonium) {2,2'-[1,4-phenyl-enebis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolato}bis-[di-chlorido-zinc(II)], (CHN)[Zn(CHNO)Cl] (), were synthesized and their structures were determined using ESI-MS spectrometry, H NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results showed that the ligands 2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)-4-phenyl-quinolin-8-ol () and ,'-bis-(2-hy-droxy-benzyl-idene)benzene-1,4-di-amine () were deprotonated by tri-ethyl-amine, forming the counter-ion EtNH, which inter-acts an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond with the ligand. The Zn atoms have a distorted trigonal-pyramidal () and distorted tetra-hedral () geometries with a coord-ination number of four, coordinating with the ligands N and O atoms.

Further exploration of the physicochemical nature of μ-bridge-relevant deprotonations the elucidation of four kinds of alditol complexes.

Single-crystal structures of four alditol complexes are presented. In LuCl/galactitol and ScCl/-inositol complexes, μ-bridge-relevant deprotonations were observed. The polarization from two rare earth ions in the μ-bridge activates the chemically inert OH and promotes deprotonation.

This study aims to develop a series of cation exchange hydrogel resins via gamma irradiation technique through copolymerizing styrene sodium sulfonate with three acrylamide derivatives (designated as poly(X-co-styrene sodium sulfonate), where X refers to acrylamide (PAASS), methacrylamide (PMASS), and isopropyl acrylamide (PIASS)). The prepared hydrogel resins were characterized and tested for the adsorption removal of hard/scale metal cations (e.g.

The fluorescence quenching behavior of rhodamine 6G (R6G) by graphene oxide (GO) under varying pH conditions was investigated. Utilizing steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy, single-photon counting, and ultrafast time-resolved absorption spectroscopy, we explored the quenching efficiency at pH values of 3, 7, and 11. Our findings reveal that GO effectively quenches R6G fluorescence across all tested pH levels, with the most significant quenching observed at pH 7.

Rates and selectivities for the partial oxidation of organic molecules on reactive electrodes depend on the identity and prevalence of reactive and spectator species. Here, we investigate the mechanism for the epoxidation of 1-hexene (CH) with reactive oxygen species formed by electrochemical oxidation of water (HO) on gold (Au) in an aqueous acetonitrile (CHCN) electrolyte. Cyclic voltammetry measurements demonstrate that oxygen (O) evolution competes with CH epoxidation, and the Au surface must oxidize before either reaction occurs.
