The title dinuclear platinum compound, [Pt(2)Cl(4)(C(22)H(16)N(4))(C(2)H(6)S)(2)], with a long bridging bipyridyl-type ligand, is centrosymmetric and the Pt(II) cation shows a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry. The Cl ligands are trans to each other, with a Cl-Pt-Cl angle of 178.83 (8)°. The pyridine ring forms a dihedral angle of 48.8 (2)° with the planar PtCl(2)SN unit. Within the mol-ecule, the distance between Pt atoms is 20.262 (5) Å and the N⋯N separation between the terminal pyridyl rings is 16.23 (1)Å.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the fracture resistance of long-span fixed provisional restorations fabricated using milling, three-dimensional (3D) printing, and conventional methods.

Materials And Methods: Sixty specimens were prepared, divided into four groups of 15 each, corresponding to four fabrication methods: computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) milled provisional resins, 3D-printed provisional resins, 3D-printed permanent resins, and conventional bis-acryl restorations reinforced with wire. The specimens underwent a three-point bending test using a universal testing machine to measure fracture resistance, quantified as maximum force (in Newtons).

Mechanistic Insights into the Aerobic Oxidation of 2,5-Bis(hydroxymethyl)furfural to 2,5-Furandicarboxylic Acid on Pd Catalysts.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) is one of the top selected value-added chemicals, which can be obtained by the aerobic oxidation of 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furfural (BHMF) over a Pd-based catalyst. However, the elucidation of the reaction mechanism was hindered by its rapid kinetics. Herein, employing the density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we delve into the detailed reaction pathways of the BHMF oxidation into FDCA over Pd(111) and PdH(111) identifying the rate-determining steps.

Efficient recovery of metals from secondary resources is essential to address resource shortages and environmental crises. The development of a cheap, environmentally friendly, and highly efficient recovery pathway is essential for resource retrieval. In this study, we propose a high-efficiency extraction approach utilizing bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl) phosphonic acid (Cyanex272) to recover cobalt from waste choline chloride/ethylene glycol (Ethaline) electrolyte containing Co(II) ions.

Environmental pollutants have been implicated in various detrimental health effects. However, the specific relationship between environmental pollutant exposure and the risk of cerebrovascular disease mortality remains uncertain. This study aimed to comprehensively explore the potential relationship between environmental pollutant exposure and risk of cerebrovascular disease mortality in the U.

Background: While Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is frequently associated with impulsivity, its structural brain substrates are still poorly defined. The triadic model of addiction postulates that impulsive behavior is regulated by an amygdalo-striatal impulsive subcomponent, a prefrontal and cerebellar reflective subcomponent, and an insular regulatory subcomponent. The objective of this study was thus to examine the relationships between self-evaluated impulsivity and structural brain abnormalities in patients with severe AUD (sAUD) using the triadic model as a theoretical framework.
