Article Abstract

The title compound, C(16)H(12)N(2)O(2)S, was prepared by a Neigishi cross-coupling reaction to investigate the coordination chemistry of thio-phene-containing ligands. In the mol-ecule, the pyridine rings are twisted from the thio-phene ring by 20.6 (1) and 4.1 (2)°. The six-membered dihydro-dioxine ring is in a half-chair conformation.

Methods to assess dermal exposures in occupational settings: a scoping review.

Ann Work Expo Health

April 2024

ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc., 1545 U.S. Highway 22 East, Annandale, NJ, United States.

Article Synopsis
  • The study highlights the increasing importance of dermal exposure in occupational settings as inhalation limits are reduced, emphasizing the need for standardized assessment methods.
  • The research involved a systematic review of literature published from 2002 to 2022, focusing on noninvasive methods for measuring skin exposure in the workplace.
  • Findings revealed 493 articles, identifying the most common assessment methods (biomarkers, dosimeters, surveys), as well as key substances of concern (pesticides, PAHs), while also pinpointing significant gaps in research regarding certain chemicals like cleaning agents and hair dyes.

The heterocyclic aromatic compounds are primarily used to make pharmaceutical and agrochemicals. In addition, these compounds can be chosen as antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, electro and opto-electronic devices, polymer material, dye stuff, developers, etc. On the account of this, the heterocyclic aromatic 6-nitro-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxine (6N3DB) was chosen and the structure is optimized to predict the important properties of it.

Environmental toxicants in breast milk of Norwegian mothers and gut bacteria composition and metabolites in their infants at 1 month.

Microbiome

February 2019

Department of Environmental Exposure and Epidemiology, Infection Control and Environmental Health, Norwegian Institute of Public Health, PO Box 222, Skøyen, 0213, Oslo, Norway.

Background: Early disruption of the microbial community may influence life-long health. Environmental toxicants can contaminate breast milk and the developing infant gut microbiome is directly exposed. We investigated whether environmental toxicants in breastmilk affect the composition and function of the infant gut microbiome at 1 month.
