Background: Early chick mortality (ECM) is one of the most important problems of the poultry industry that causes severe economic losses to the farmers. The chick mortality varies in different geographical locations and its etiological factor also varies.
Aim: The aim of the present work was to isolate and identify various etiological agents responsible for causing ECM in broilers, and study the overall occurrence and pathology of various disease conditions responsible for causing ECM in broilers.

This case report describes an unusual occurrence of a splenic hydatid cyst that perforated the posterior wall of the stomach.

Humans continue to be at risk from the Zika virus. Although there have been significant research advancements regarding Zika, the absence of a vaccine or approved treatment poses further challenges for healthcare providers. In this study, we developed a microparticulate Zika vaccine using an inactivated whole Zika virus as the antigen that can be administered pain-free via intranasal (IN) immunization.

Objective: To assess the prevalence and predictors of splenic dysfunction in children with sickle cell disease (SCD).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between June 2019 and December 2020 where children aged 1 to 15 years of age with SCD were screened for splenic dysfunction. Children who were splenectomised, those with other diseases known to affect splenic function like congenital malformations, immunodeficiencies, and chronic diseases like tuberculosis, nephrotic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, chronic liver disease, celiac disease or malignancy were excluded.
