To address the holistic and continuity of care needs of people who attend North East hospitals frequently for alcohol-related reasons, Recovery Navigator (Navigator) roles were introduced into Alcohol Care Teams in six hospitals in the North East of England, UK, in 2022. The Navigators aimed to provide dedicated holistic support to patients experiencing alcohol harms, starting whilst in the hospital with the potential to continue this beyond discharge. This qualitative study explores the contributions that the Navigators make towards integrated alcohol care.

Clinical swallow examination (CSE) following laryngectomy (± pharyngeal resection) remains a critical step in dysphagia evaluation. Whilst the core components of a standard CSE service a broad spectrum of patient populations, no evidence exists examining the essential assessment items specific to CSE in the laryngectomy population. The aim of this study was to identify the tasks, measures and observations considered necessary to include in a CSE post laryngectomy.

Purpose: To explore behavioral risk factors contributing to fall and near-fall scenarios for Veterans with dysvascular lower-limb amputation.

Materials And Methods: Participants were a convenience sample of Veterans with unilateral dysvascular lower-limb amputation, receiving care at a single Veterans Administration Regional Amputation Center, who participated in an interview (12/2021-04/2023). We used phenomenological research and directed content analysis to explore participant perspectives on fall scenarios.
