Objectives: The aims of this study were to investigate human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes in women with cervical intraepithelial lesions and cervical cancer (CC) in Honduras and to identify epidemiological cofactors that contribute to the development of CC.
Methods: Among the 289 patients analyzed, 139 had low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL), 60 had high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL), and 90 had CC.
Results: The HPV DNA was detected in 113 women (81%) with LSIL, in 58 women (97%) with HSIL, and in 84 women (93%) with CC. Twenty-five HPV genotypes were found. Human papillomavirus type 16 was detected in 41% of women with CC, in 35% of women with HSIL, and in 24% of women with LSIL. Human papillomavirus type 18 was found in 9% of women with CC, in 4% of women with HSIL, and 5% of women with LSIL.
Conclusion: Therefore, implementation of the prophylactic vaccines against HPV genotypes 16 and 18 has the potential of preventing at least a quarter of LSIL, one third of HSIL, and about half of CC cases in Honduras.

The incidence of cervical cancer continues to rise in underdeveloped regions due to low human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates and inadequate screening systems. To achieve convenient, rapid, and accurate detection of HPV, we developed a three-wire lateral flow strip assay system based on dual-OR logic gates for rapid and simultaneous detection of HPV subtypes 16 and 18 in a single test. The system combines three-branch-catalytic hairpin assembly (TCHA)-mediated signal amplification with simple OR logic gate-based signal output to improve detection rates while enabling HPV 16/18 subtype identification.

Background: Sweden introduced HPV vaccination in 2006, administered through opportunistic, subsidized, catch-up and school-based programs. Notably, genital warts (GW) are the first observable clinical outcome following infection by HPV-6/11, targeted by vaccination. We aim to gain knowledge of the incidence of GW in Sweden and evaluate its change throughout vaccination programs.

Background: Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma incidence is increasing, especially among women under 60, largely attributed to human papillomavirus infections. Precursor pre-invasive vulvar lesions are frequently underdiagnosed. Routine vulvar inspection during cervical cancer screening could offer an opportunity for the detection of these lesions.

Objective: This study aimed to uncover the patterns of Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection outcomes in women and assess the risk factors that may affect these outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 608 women who tested positive for HPV-DNA during their initial visit to the outpatient department of Shenzhen Longgang Central Hospital from 2018 to 2023 and who had subsequent HPV-DNA testing as part of their post-visit monitoring. The monitoring intervals were every 6 months.
