Patent Blue V (PBV) is extensively used in sentinel lymph node identification in cancer surgery, potentially leading to an increased incidence of hypersensitivity reactions. A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with suspected PBV hypersensitivity, at our center from 2010 to 2023. Skin prick tests (SPT) were performed on all patients, followed by intradermal tests (IDT) if SPT was negative.

Background: This study aimed to investigate whether changes in capillary refill (CR) time precede macrovascular signs of deterioration in a human model of blood loss shock. The study was conducted at the Department of Emergency Medicine in Linköping, Sweden, and involved 42 healthy volunteers aged 18-45. Participants were randomized into two provocations of applied lower body negative pressure (LBNP): a stepwise escalation protocol and a direct application protocol, to simulate gradual and acute blood loss.

Patent foramen ovale (PFO), a cardiac anatomical anomaly inducing abnormal haemodynamics, leads to a paradoxical bypass of the pulmonary circulation. PFO closure might alleviate migraines; however, clinical evidence and basic experiments for the relationship are lacking. To explore the effect of PFO on migraine, 371 migraineurs finishing blood tests and contrast transthoracic echocardiography for the detection of PFO were prospectively included.

The bottleneck in enhanced sampling lies in finding collective variables that effectively accelerate protein conformational changes; true reaction coordinates that accurately predict the committor are the well-recognized optimal choice. However, identifying them requires unbiased natural reactive trajectories, which, paradoxically, require effective enhanced sampling. Using the generalized work functional method, we uncover that true reaction coordinates control both conformational changes and energy relaxation, enabling us to compute them from energy relaxation simulations.

This report presents two cases of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (LE) in women aged 38 and 61 after adalimumab treatment for psoriasis highlighting the importance of recognizing these paradoxical reactions for timely management.
