Objectives: To demonstrate corneal remodeling after corneal allograft intrastromal ring segment (CAIRS) with an anterior-segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT).
Design: A prospective observational single-center study.
Methods: This observational study included keratoconus patients who underwent CAIRS implantation into a stromal tunnel.

This study presents a cutting-edge imaging technique for special unmanned vehicles (UAVs) designed to enhance tunnel inspection capabilities. This technique integrates ghost imaging inspired by the human visual system with lateral inhibition and variable resolution to improve environmental perception in challenging conditions, such as poor lighting and dust. By emulating the high-resolution foveal vision of the human eye, this method significantly enhances the efficiency and quality of image reconstruction for fine targets within the region of interest (ROI).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo key series of discoveries about the hippocampus are described. One is the discovery of hippocampal spatial view cells in primates. This discovery opens the way to a much better understanding of human episodic memory, for episodic memory prototypically involves a memory of where people or objects or rewards have been seen in locations "out there" which could never be implemented by the place cells that encode the location of a rat or mouse.

Our systematic review and meta-analysis elucidates the postoperative complication rates associated with 3 major surgical approaches, including the scleral tunnel, glued, and flanged techniques, for sutureless intrascleral intraocular lens (IOL) fixation. An online search was performed for articles published in PubMed and EMBASE between January 1, 1975, and January 7, 2023. Original studies reporting postoperative complications of sutureless intrascleral IOL fixation were included.

Background: The cornea plays a role in the refractive power of the eye, and when its natural curvature and thickness are compromised by diseases such as keratoconus or high myopia, this results in loss of visual acuity. Intracorneal rings (ICRs) were developed as a treatment option to restore the natural corneal curvature by implanting rings into tunnels cut within the corneal stroma. However, selecting and placing the appropriate ring can be difficult, and predicting refractive outcomes is challenging.
