In bovine aortic smooth muscle, about 50% of total GTP-binding activity was present in the cytosol fraction. A major GTP-binding protein (G protein) with a Mr value of about 21,000 (21K G) in this fraction was purified to near homogeneity and characterized. 21K G bound maximally about 0.8 mol of [35S]guanosine 5'-(3-O-thio)triphosphate/mol of protein with a Kd value of about 20 nM. 21K G showed GTPase activity with a turnover number of about 0.007 min-1. 21K G was ADP-ribosylated by botulinum ADP-ribosyltransferase and about 0.4 mol of ADP-ribose was maximally incorporated into 1 mol of 21K G. 21K G and the bovine brain rhoA gene product (rhoA p21) were eluted at the same retention time on C4 reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography and migrated at the same positions on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. These results indicate that the major G protein in bovine aortic smooth muscle cytosol is rhoA p21.

Objective: The study objective was to investigate the effect of free-edge length on valve performance in bicuspidization repair of congenitally diseased aortic valves.
Methods: In addition to a constructed unicuspid aortic valve disease model, 3 representative groups-free-edge length to aortic diameter ratio 1.2, 1.

Objective: Berry syndrome is a group of rare congenital cardiac malformations including aortopulmonary window (APW), aortic origin of the right pulmonary artery (AORPA), interruption of the aortic arch (IAA), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) (supplying the descending aorta) and intact ventricular septum. This paper will analyze the clinical data of 7 patients with Berry syndrome who underwent surgical treatment in our institution and discuss the one-stage surgical correction of Berry syndrome in combination with the literature.
Methods: From January 2013 to July 2024, a total of 7 children with Berry syndrome were admitted to the Cardiac Surgery Department of Beijing Children's Hospital.

The effects of T4 are mainly manifested by positive ino- and chronotropism. The syndrome accompanying hypothyroidism in rabbits (impaired myocardial contractility and reduced ejection capacity) is caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormones - especially T4. The study group consisted of a total of 41 animals: 15 males and 26 females, ranging in age from 2 months to 8 years, with echocardiogram showing reduced fractional shortening (<30%), with normal results of heamatological and biochemical tests.

This case report presents a unique challenge of complete aortomitral curtain dehiscence and a large pseudoaneurysm 6 weeks post-aortic root replacement in a patient with infective endocarditis. It underscores the importance of meticulous follow-up in patients who have undergone complex aortic surgeries, especially those with infective endocarditis. The patient's subtle symptoms of occasional dyspnea and lightheadedness highlight the necessity for a comprehensive evaluation and a high index of suspicion.
