Dental providers must determine the presence of orofacial injury, and diagnose and treat dental and orofacial outcomes of trauma caused by motor vehicle collisions. Determination of causation and relation to the trauma is indicated. Dental trauma includes concussion, subluxation and dislocation of teeth, and fracture of teeth and maxillofacial bone, in addition to soft tissue injury that may cause ecchymosis, hematoma and laceration or abrasion. This article focuses on orofacial injury and dental complaints following motor vehicle collisions, while part 2 focuses on temporomandibular symptoms.

Tau hyper-phosphorylation has been recognized as an essential contributor to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related tauopathies. In the last decade, tau hyper-phosphorylation has gained considerable concern in AD therapeutic development. Tauopathies are manifested with a broad spectrum of symptoms, from dementia to cognitive decline and motor impairments.

As an effective approach to mitigating urban environmental issues, New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) have become a focal point of research regarding their current development status and future prospects in China. Addressing the significant disparities in the development of the NEVs industry across different cities, this study focuses on ten typical Chinese cities and develops a novel multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) framework to evaluate the prospects of NEVs promotion in these cities. The study first establishes a comprehensive indicator system that covers key dimensions such as economy, policy support, infrastructure, technological innovation, and environment, encompassing five different types of evaluation information.

The edge structures of carbonaceous materials exhibit temperature-dependent behavior on the atomic scale, with variations in the relative ratios of zigzag, reconstructed 5-7 zigzag (ZZ57), and armchair edges observed at different temperatures. Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying the interconversion of these edge structures and the influence of the surrounding metals remain unclear. This study investigates the reconstruction and reversible transformation processes of ZZ57 edge structures in carbon materials and examines the effects of different metal atoms (Na, K, and Ca) by using density functional theory.

Background: Hybrid emergency rooms (ERs) allow computed tomography (CT) scanning, interventional radiology, and surgery all in the same suite. Severe trauma patients with blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI) require rapid diagnosis and treatment. Hybrid ERs allow the potential for clinicians to implement multiple therapeutic procedures, including thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), for these types of conditions without the need to transport the patients.

This study aimed to determine the risk of emergency admission by ambulance in patients taking potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs). We included 273,932 patients aged over 75 years of age admitted between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2019, using the Japan Medical Data Center medical insurance database containing anonymized patient data. We excluded patients without a history of admission.
