Aim: To investigate the effect of exercise on bone mineral element metabolism and relative hormones in ovariectomized rats.
Methods: 24 female SD rats were divided randomly into 4 groups: (1) normal control, (2) sham ovariectomy, (3) ovariectomy (OVX), (4) OVX + exercise.
Results: (1) Ca, Mg, S,Co,Mn, Zn reduced obviously and P increases in bone of the OVX rats. (2) E2, P, TSH, T4, CT, Cortisol, GH reduced obviously and IL-6, FSH, LH increased obviously in serum of the OVX rats. (3) Exercised opposed the changes of Ca, Mg, S, Co, Mn, Zn and P in bone as well as the changes of E2, P, TSH, T4, CT, Cortisol, GH and IL-6, FSH, LH in serum of the OVX rats.
Conclusion: Exercise may correct the changes of bone mineral element and the relative hormones in ovariectomized rats.

Medium chained triglycerides (MCT) ketogenic diet is being extensively investigated for its neuroprotective effects against adverse effects associated with aging and neurodegenerative disorders. Aging is a common risk factor for the development of both osteoporosis and neurological disorders. Hence, suppression of aging and age-related neurodegeneration might contribute to delaying skeletal aging.

A female NCAA Division I track athlete experienced non-localized shin pain midway through her first season, which was diagnosed as medial tibial stress syndrome. Treatments included strengthening and range of motion exercises, reduced training volume, and pain control modalities, but symptoms worsened. It was revealed she had been suffering from severe sleep deprivation (<3 hours/night) contributing to bilateral tibial and fibular stress reactions.

Probiotics are known to have favorable effects on human health. Nevertheless, probiotics are not always beneficial and can cause unintended adverse effects such as bacteremia and/or inflammation in immunocompromised patients. In the present study, we investigated the effects of probiotics on the regulation of bone metabolism under different health conditions and delivery routes.

Diabetes exacerbates the occurrence and severity of periodontitis, the pathogenesis of diabetic periodontitis (DPD) is influenced by the delayed resolution of inflammation. Eldecalcitol (ED-71) has shown promise in preventing bone loss in DPD. We herein aimed to investigate the role of ED-71 in the inflammatory regression phase of DPD and elucidate the underlying mechanisms.
